3. Do you need a Slovenian bank account?
Yes, to receive your earnings, you must open a Slovenian or EU bank account. We recommend opening a bank account online: N26 or Revolut.

Calculation example:
If Slovenia has a signed agreement on avoiding double taxation with your country of origin, you will receive the advance payment refunded.
5. Which amounts are deducted from your payment?
For NON-RESIDENTS of the Republic of Slovenia, the following are deducted from each payment:
13.95 % contribution for pension and disability insurance (PIZ). This is not deducted if the foreign national is already covered by compulsory pension and disability insurance on another basis and proves this before the referral is issued with an appropriate certificate from a foreign institution that is no older than 30 days.
22.5 % income tax advance (deducted from every payment. This amount can be refunded with KIDO 12 if you come from countries that have a signed agreement on avoiding double taxation with Slovenia).
6. What is KIDO 12?
KIDO 12 is a form that allows non-residents of Slovenia to request a refund of the 22.5 % income tax advance, which is deducted from your student work earnings.
To be eligible, you must come from a country that has signed a double taxation avoidance agreement with Slovenia.
👉 Use the calculator to check if your country qualifies.
